Beyond having the right furniture, your kitchen’s ambience can have a big impact on how long you and your company want to linger after the meal’s over. We chose soft, sage green walls and muted blue window treatments for the soothing tone they set. Organic-themed accents echo the elegant pattern of the chairs and add a nice touch of natural beauty. Before you order up a dining room set with all the sides, it’s important to consider the size and shape of your room and how you plan on using it. Will you mostly be hosting a party of four for everyday meals? Or, will larger dinner parties be gathering there? Once you’ve answered these questions, the rest is as easy as pie!
How big is your dining room? Do you have a large space at your disposal? A cavernous room with a small table will look cold and empty, while a too small space with a large table and chairs will seem unpleasantly crowded. Always measure your room before buying furniture, and remember to leave enough room around your furniture to move around easily. If it is a fairly large room, you may want to consider including other pieces of furniture such as screens, sideboards or china cabinets. If you want to downplay the size you may also want to use heavy drapes or large rugs. Wider, bigger or upholstered chairs or chairs with arms may be used.
