Many different colors were combined but they were beautifully balanced. Each room or space has its own palette of colors. For example, the kitchen and dining room area are probably the brighter spaces in the house. The kitchen is mostly white with black and ocher insertions. Then the space continues into the living room where an entire wall was painted ochre. It was combined with turquoise and blue accents and a brown sofa and the contrast is quite beautiful.
Just as we look to other cultures for fresh design perspectives, so do the Scandinavians, hence the nod to Asian-inspired lighting fixtures that are becoming very popular. If you think about it, both cultures share important design sensibilities, such as quality and simplicity, so it’s no wonder that Asian elements work well in Nordic-inspired interiors.
